Time Tracking in Infinity
The Time Tracking attribute allows you to log the time spent on specific tasks (i.e. items) within your workspace. It’s perfect for monitoring progress, boosting productivity, and keeping a clear record of work hours — whether you're working solo or in a team.

How to Add a Time Tracking Attribute
Creating a Time Tracking attribute works just like adding any other attribute in Infinity.
To add it in Table view:
- Click “Add a Column”, then select “Create New Attribute.”
- Choose Time Tracking from the attribute list.
- Give your attribute a name.
- Configure the settings:
- Allow parallel tracking on multiple items: Enable this if you want to track time on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Show everyone’s time tracking: When turned on, all users can see each other’s time logs on the same item.
- Click Save to add the attribute to your table.

Using Time Tracking
{primary} NOTE: The timer icon is currently available only in Table and List views.
Here’s how to use it:
- Start Tracking: Click the small Play icon next to a task to begin tracking time.
- Stop Tracking: Click the Pause icon to stop tracking and log the time entry.
- Track Multiple Items (if enabled): If parallel tracking is turned on, you can track several tasks at once. If not, starting a new timer will automatically stop the previous one.
- View Tracked Time: Open the item to see a detailed list of time entries.
- Modify Entries: By hovering over an entry, you will see a calendar icon meant to help you adjust the date of an entry.
- Tracked Tasks Overview: All tracked time is saved within the item itself, giving you a complete history at a glance.
Personal Time Tracking Widget
Once you start tracking time, a timer icon appears in the top bar of Infinity. Click it to open the Time Tracking Widget, where you can:
- Add notes to your current time entry,
- Pause or stop the timer — even if you’re in a different tab, folder, or workspace,
- See all paused entries listed below (click Play to resume tracking),
- Note that stopped entries won’t appear in the widget — you'll need to view them, directly within the item.

{primary} NOTE: Clicking the Play icon on a task always starts a new time entry — it doesn’t resume the previous one.
