Calendar

For items that are time-sensitive, the Calendar view will be a great addition to your organizational process. It will allow you to see all the important dates like deadlines, calls, meetings, events, etc. and easily manage everything you need to do.

calendar

In your calendar, you can get an overview of an entire month, week and even a single day. This means that you can also keep track of the exact time when something needs to happen and make detailed schedules.

Let’s talk a bit more about how to best use the Calendar view to your advantage.

How to Add Items to a Calendar

In order to start using a calendar in Infinity, you’ll first need to add an item to it. To do this, just click on the plus sign inside the cell with the date that you need, give your new event a name, and then press Enter.

If you’re in the weekly or daily overview, just click anywhere in the date field to create an item.

Next, you’ll want to click on the item to open up the modal/sidebar and customize your event by adding attributes. When you’re done, simply exit the modal.

You can add as many attributes as you need to your event, but the most important one is the Date attribute. Without it, you won’t be able to see any of the events you create in the calendar.

How to Use the Calendar View

Calendar is not so diffficult to master once you have the basics down, so let's just cover some of the things you won't be able to get started without.

Adding Date Attributes

When you create an event, a due date will automatically be added to it.

When you select your date, your event should appear in the calendar. Keep adding more items/events to fill out the calendar.

You can add more Date attributes in case you need them e.g. both a Start and an End Date. As you create more dates, you’ll be able to select a date range by clicking on the Due Date button, and even a label (if you have created one) to color-code your items.

With a date range in place, your calendar will end up looking something like this:

When adding Date attributes to your events, you can also include a time field for each of them. In Week and Day overviews, this will allow you to see the exact times when your event is supposed to take place.

{info} TIP: Instead of changing the date manually when e.g. your meeting is delayed, you can simply drag and drop your items from one date field to another.

Different Calendar Overviews

As we already mentioned, in Infinity it’s possible to view events in a couple of different ways. To change the overview, you need to click on the Month button next to your dates.

Month

If you want to see all the events you have scheduled for a certain month, then the monthly overview is just what you need. This way, you’ll see all the scheduled events in one place.

If you click on one of the arrows next to the name of the month above the calendar, you’ll be able to go back and forth between different months.

In the monthly overview, it’s not possible to view time fields for your events.

Week

If you need to keep track of your events on a weekly basis, then the weekly overview will definitely come in handy.

Here, you’ll be able to see days of the week, events set for each of them, and even time fields (if you added them to your Date attributes). At the top of the calendar, you can use the arrows to switch between different weeks of the month.

Day

The daily overview is great for anyone who needs a more close-up look of their schedule for a specific day. Here, you’ll only see the events set for a certain date.

In the daily overview, you’ll also see your time fields, and you can use the arrows at the top of the calendar to switch between different days of the week.

Undated Items

Next to the Month, Week, and Day buttons you will see a button called ‘Undated Items’. If you click on it, a sidebar will open to your right, where you’ll be able to see all the items that don’t have a date assigned to them.

From this sidebar, you can easily drag and drop any undated items to the date field of your choice, without having to go into every item separately and edit the date.

{info} TIP: In the Calendar view, it’s possible to filter items, which makes it easier for you to organize your workload and deadlines.
