Tabs

What Is a Tab?

Another powerful feature in Infinity are tabs. Tabs help you improve your organization and boost productivity by letting you navigate your folders more easily.

In short: tabs allow you to view the items in one folder in different ways depending on your needs.

For example, you can create different tabs for different team members so you can easily overview their tasks.

You can also create a new tab in a folder just to get a different view of the items, e.g. one tab can be a list and another one a calendar.

In each new tab, you can also use different filters, groups, or sort options, and whenever you come back to these tabs, your preferences will be saved.

So, for example, in one tab you can filter out High Priority tasks only, while in another you can just view those tasks that you are done with. Possibilities are endless.

{info} TIP: If you want to keep the order you created in the first tab, our suggestion is to duplicate it instead of simply opening a new one.

How to Create a New Tab

Tabs are located at the top central part of your board. There you will be able to view tabs, navigate them and create new ones.

Whenever you create a new folder in your board, you automatically create the first tab, as well. Afterwards, you can add as many new tabs as you need in that folder, to organize your data.

This is how you create a new tab:

  • Find and click the plus sign next to the existing tab (or the last created tab).
  • Choose a View Type among the options that appear in the drop-down menu.
  • Give your tab a name by clicking it and typing it in.

How to Navigate a Tab

As we said, tabs can come in handy when you want to have a clear overview of a particular set of items.

Maybe you’ll want to see your team members’ tasks in different tabs. Or you’ll want a tab that shows you just those tasks that are not done yet. Or you’ll want to keep track of the tasks that are marked as high priority.

When it comes to manipulating your tabs, you can do it in a few ways. On each tab, you will notice a three dots symbol. By clicking that symbol, you will get the options to delete, duplicate and rename your tab.

You can also move your tabs around and change their order by drag and drop. Just click the tab you want to move and drag it to a new place.

{info} TIP: In order to properly use tabs, we suggest you go over the following sections: attributes, views, filters, group, sort, and customize.
